History – Subject information

At Westcott Primary, our history vision is to:

  • Give children a long-lasting love and passion for history by providing knowledge, developing understanding of concepts and making links.
  • To inspire pupils’ curiosity to know more about the past and give children a good understanding of chronology.
  • To understand how and why the world, our country, culture and locality have developed over time.
  • To enable children to understand how the past influences the present and why it is relevant to their own lives.
