Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility.

Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play in safeguarding children.

The health, safety and well-being of all our pupils at Westcott Primary School is of the utmost importance.  Our priority is to provide a safe and welcoming environment, where pupils are valued and respected.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection policy, which can be viewed below or in our policy section.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare.  We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with their parents/carers in the first instance, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

We know that children thrive better and are able to reach their full potential when we work closely together.  At Westcott Primary School we are committed to this and look forward to our continuing close partnership with you in the future.
