Friends of Westcott

In March 2018 a group of parents who had been meeting in school as an unstructured PTA discussed with school a proposal to form a structured and regulated PTA group. School agreed with this and parents were informed on 9th May 2018 of the proposal and plan to hold an AGM to form a committee.

At the AGM on 13th June a chair, vice chair, treasurer, vice treasurer, secretary and 10 committee members were voted in to form the official Friends of Westcott committee.

We joined Parentkind (charity who support parent engagement in school) to access benefits including use of their constitution document which was adopted and signed at the AGM, agreed to set up a Friends of Westcott bank account and register as a charity.

All of our activities are conducted in line with the constitution and this informs our structure and decision making in terms of voting for actions to be taken, (a copy of the constitution is available by emailing friendsofwestcott@outlook.com)

We hold a Friends of Westcott Bank Account and are accountable as a group for all financial activities.

On 25th July we successfully registered Friends of Westcott as a charity with charity number 1179319 with all committee members being trustees of the charity.

All parents/ carers of children attending Westcott Primary School are ordinary members of the PTA group and are always welcome to attend meetings, volunteer, support our activities and share ideas however the formal committee members have a responsibility for ensuring the continued work of the PTA.

On this page you will find the original PTA proposal which includes the aims and objectives of the group which we continue to work to, AGM reports as well as a variety of photos showing some of what we get upto, but to give you an idea in the past 3 years we have –
